Victor Wong, a Hong Kong based artist, has spent the last three years building and programming an AI robot called Gemini. Through training the robot on artistic techniques, Gemini is now able to create its own paintings - selling pieces at an average price of $13,000.
By feeding Gemini images from China's Chang'e-4 Rover and NASA's database, Victor's ground-breaking AI landscape paintings are inspired by humankind's first contact with the moon. Writing randomness into Gemini's code, the robot it is able to create unpredictable work with its tools of black ink and water.
So is it Victor's art, or Gemini's?
